The powerful BIOLUX HCL lighting solution from LEDVANCE provides excellent lighting quality in the Munich office of one of the world's leading management consultancies and can be flexibly adapted to the needs of its users at any time.

THE CHALLENGE

Some of the luminaires previously used in the office achieved only 100 lux, which is far too little to enable ergonomic working and meet current standards. Added to this was the customer's need for high-quality lighting that can be adapted to changing work and consulting situations. As the offices did not provide a dropped grid ceiling for installing the luminaires, an optically attractive solution had to be found for mounting the luminaires and wiring on the concrete ceiling. A further requirement was to use the existing rectangular ceiling recesses for installing the new luminaires.

The "Focus" lighting mode ensures greater attention during presentations.

THE SOLUTION

The customer opted for the innovative BIOLUX HCL system from LEDVANCE. BIOLUX HCL PANEL 625 were used, which are extremely bright and are characterized by reduced glare of UGR <15 and a high color rendering index of CRI ≥ 90. They have been installed in LEDVANCE mounting frames with lateral power supply on the concrete ceiling and ensure homogenous brightness of 500 lux. The lighting thus complies with the planning recommendations for biologically effective light according to DIN SPEC 67600. Custom-made covers for the round BIOLUX HCL downlights were used to cover the rectangular ceiling recesses in an optically attractive way. The HCL system was integrated into the offices' room control terminals via the intuitively operated BIOLUX Control Units.

THE BENEFITS

The new HCL lighting solution provides uniform brightness in the offices, thus creating a good and pleasant working atmosphere. In addition, the flexible BIOLUX HCL-system follows the daily routine of the management consultancy with various lighting scenarios. During brainstorming in the meeting room, for example, the "Create" lighting mode provides a creative atmosphere, while the "Boost" mode later helps to work concentrated on a presentation under time pressure. For the subsequent customer presentation, the "Focus" mode can then be selected to provide optimum lighting for maximized attention.

Five different lighting modes provide perfect conditions, for daily office work and for meetings and presentations as well.
