THE CHALLENGE

The data center opted for an ambitious transition from traditional lighting to modern LED solutions, with the goals of enhancing lighting quality, minimizing the carbon footprint, and achieving substantial energy cost savings.

THE SOLUTION

In collaboration with IBBR, LEDVANCE implemented a lighting concept using the TruSys®Flex system, covering 600 meters with DALI-2 Lighting Units, blind covers, and a specially designed TruSys®Flex Gear Plate with Sensors. Operated by two DALI-2 Pro IoT Controllers, the system maximizes energy efficiency and supports decentralized escape route lighting fixtures connected to LEDVANCE 8P-energy rails, with built-in DALI-2 Sensor LS/PD CI for presence detection functionality.

THE BENEFITS

Transitioning to LED lighting yielded significant results, cutting energy consumption by over 80% through sensor integration and resulting in substantial cost savings for the data center. The TruSys Flex® System's extended lifespan (100,000 hours L70) and a warranty of up to 5 years promise to minimize future maintenance efforts and costs. Presence detection sensors in designated areas enhance convenience for data center personnel.

SUMMARY

The data center's lighting underwent a comprehensive transformation for sustainability and efficiency, as LEDVANCE collaborated with IBBR to develop and implement a modern Smart LED lighting solution. This initiative notably improved lighting quality, increased employee comfort, and resulted in substantial reductions in carbon footprint and energy costs.
