MySun in Gouda used the Osram led tubes as a high luminous efficacy solution fitting on 230V mains to replace the outdated traditional T8 lamps.

THE CHALLENGE

MySun, shades of Holland, provides a wide range of outdoor sun protection products to their customers. In their company, the products are custom made and there is a need to optimize efficiency and output. The previous installation of traditional T8 lamps was outdated and needed to be replaced.

THE SOLUTION

The solution to this challenge was found when MySun approached LEDVANCE to look for the best luminous efficacy LED tube at an appropriate color temperature. It was realized that the CCGs of the various brands were outdated and needed to be dismantled. It was agreed that the T8 EM PRO ULTRA OUTPUT LED tube was the best solution, as it could be connected directly to the 230V mains without a CCG. After a test, the MySun electricians installed and assembled the tubes in the luminaires.

THE BENEFITS

The T8 EM PRO ULTRA OUTPUT saves up to 60% of energy compared to the T8 fluorescent tubes on CCG. The LED tubes are highly efficient as they have a high luminous efficacy of up to 175 lm/W. As a result, the payback on the purchase and TCO is as low as 4 months. The T8 EM PRO ULTRA OUTPUT is made of high-quality full glass with a PET coating for shatter protection. According to the EU 2019/2020 regulation, the low-flicker light LED tubes already meet the requirements of 2024 and were approved in safety by the VDE. The lifetime is up to 75 000 hours and LEDVANCE gives a warranty of five years.

SUMMARY

The challenge was to find the right LED tube to replace the old fluorescent installation. To optimize the efficiency and output, the CCGs were dismantled, and the T8 EM PRO ULTRA OUTPUT LED tubes were installed as they could be directly connected to the 230V mains. In the end, 60% energy was saved, and the employees find the color temperature of 6500K very pleasant compared to the previously installed 4000K tubes.
