LEDVANCE is upgrading the lighting at the National Opera House in Wexford with innovative LED lights and strips. This modernization improves lighting quality, energy efficiency, and reduces maintenance across key areas, seamlessly integrating with the venue's architecture.
The National Opera House in Wexford, Ireland's first multipurpose opera house, required a comprehensive lighting modernization. Efficient alternatives were needed for recessed lights, as well as lighting in the foyer, bar, and staff corridors, including the use of LED strips.
Kellihers Electrical Waterford, in collaboration with a local installer, selected LEDVANCE for the lighting modernization. The solution included 54 tracklights for the bar and foyer, 74 spotlights for the theater's tiers and corridors, LED strips for ceiling lighting, and 20 surface-mounted wall lights for service corridors, all within the specified budget and meeting energy efficiency, lighting quality, and maintenance needs.
The tracklights offer minimal glare (UGR <16) and flicker-free light, while the compact, stylish spotlights provide up to 90% energy savings compared to halogen lamps. The surface lights feature a slim profile, durability, and uniform brightness. With a 5-year warranty and a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, these lights reduce long-term costs and maintenance.
